Hello! My name is Abby. I am an affectionate, playful, energetic, and shy 2yr old, 30lb, slender, short-haired mutt with long legs and huge adorable ears. I am a lap dog and love to cuddle with my foster humans in a bed, couch, chair, or on the floor. I am fostered with two smaller (25lb dogs), one 14 week doodle puppy, and one adult cat. I get along well with all of them, especially my playful canine brother and puppy. I get overwhelmed around bigger dogs I don’t know, especially if they respond aggressively to my initial shyness and apprehension. I am scared when I first meet strangers but am such an affectionate little girl once I am comfortable. I just need someone who is patient and can train me and help me learn to trust. I would do best in a home by myself with a fenced-in back yard where I could run around with my humans or with a non-aggressive dog that is smaller than me (25lb or smaller).
I am fully potty trained and leash trained. I love to take walks around the neighborhood. I still have some puppy traits in me and love to get excited when I play. I really enjoy hard chews/bones, small squeaky balls, and soft stuffed squeaky toys. I have a good bark, which makes me a good guard dog. I had puppies during the fall of 2022 and was spayed in January 2023. I am a shy, healthy, energetic, athletic, affectionate and cuddly little girl who is looking for a forever family that I can love and call my own. Are you my new family? I would love to meet you, take a walk, sit next to you, and give you kisses!
The adoption fee of $250 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!
*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
