Hi, I’m Jesse, a friendly hound mix, approximately a year old and weighing about 40 lbs. I’ve been figuring out life outside the shelter, and I’m having so much fun! I’m a happy dog who loves being near my people. Most of the time, you’ll find me with a toy nearby—I love all toys, especially the stuffed ones, but bones are great too! I really hope my forever home has plenty of toys for me to play with!
My foster mom says I’m the best buddy and always eager to help. I love snuggles and am a very affectionate fella. Positive reinforcement helps me thrive, and I absolutely love hearing that I’m a good boy. When I’m in a new situation, a little extra encouragement goes a long way in building my confidence.
I also love all things cozy—blankets, couches, pillows, and beds are all fantastic! Don’t be surprised if you find me sitting next to you on the couch. I enjoy being out in the yard too and would be happy to keep you company while you do yard work. Exercise is important for me—I need time to get my zoomies out in the yard, and I make a great walking buddy.
I am potty trained but still need some additional training. Since I’m young, I get excited and can be a bit mouthy when I play or jumpy when I see my people. My foster mom says I’m a bit like a toddler—I’m very good at finding and relocating things! I’m working on my manners with my foster family and hope my new adopter will have time to continue helping me learn.
I previously lived with two other dogs and love to play. My current foster buddies aren’t very interested in playing, but I keep trying! A dog buddy would be great, or I’d love someone who has time to walk and play with me. I’m still young and had a rough start in life—the shelter was stressful for me, and now I’m hoping to find my forever home where I can truly shine!
