Meet Fern, the sweetest little 3-month-old Shepherd/Mountain Cur mix girl looking for her forever home! This adorable pup is as smart as she is loving, and she’s making amazing progress with potty training—about 90% there! She’s still learning to go to the door when she needs out, but she hasn’t had an accident in a while. Fern sleeps soundly through the night in her pen and absolutely loves other dogs. She’s also fine with cats and adores people, though she can be a little shy at first. But don’t worry—her tail never stops wagging, and she happily soaks up pets and attention!
Fern is a quick learner, very treat-motivated, and listens well—she’s not a big nipper, just typical puppy playfulness, and she responds to “no.” She’s medium energy, enjoying both playtime and cuddle time, and she loves her toys, especially her balls! When it’s time for a nap, she’ll happily snuggle up for some extra love. While she hasn’t been tested with kids under 9, she’s shown to be gentle and affectionate.
Fern is ready to bring joy, love, and fun to her new home—could that be with you
If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!
The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
