MEET LANCE: 35-40 lb, male, golden retriever mix

This golden boy was so sweet the volunteers couldn't leave him behind! We are grateful they saw all the goodness in him and "took a chance on LANCE." Out of 52 dogs, he was the lucky stowaway who made it on the transport van and is FLOURISHING in foster care! He was scared to get in a car or step into the house but in a short amount of time has proven to be an amazing dog. Lance learned that car rides are fun & is a quiet and content backseat napper, occasionally barks at a passerby but quickly settles when corrected. He gets excited and will bark happily in response to a new dog barking at him and will ignore familiar dogs we see on our walks every day with nothing but a tail wag. He's a smart boy and is eager to please. LANCE will make the perfect addition to an active household and checks ALL the boxes:

ü housetrained & crate trained from day 1

ü takes treats gently

ü waits for you to lead him out the door and walks nicely on a leash

ü loves people, other dogs, activity & a variety of toys

ü is waiting for you to apply for a meet & greet to see if your home is for him!

The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
