Meet Hope.  Hope is a sweet, curious, smart, active, playful, newly-blind, petite, 18 lb, 1-2 year old little Beagle mix girl.  She is adjusting quickly to life without sight, is very adaptable and fearlessly brave.  Hope spent the first part of her life being neglected and over-crated in a small crate with several other siblings.

She is trusting, loving, loves chew toys and is very busy.  She is social with other friendly dogs and is quickly learning the stability of life as an indoor family dog.  Hope has puppy energy, is working on being mouthy and enjoys exploring a fenced outdoor backyard with supervision.

Hope is currently in a foster home with a four-dog pack and is thriving. She would do well in an experienced dog home with a lot of supervision and attention with positive reinforcement training.  A gentle playful fur sibling/s would be ideal.  Young children under 10 are not recommended for her safety.

Hope can be vocal when excited during play or upset and is working on whining. She is easily re-directed and will nudge or nibble humans to signal it is time to go outside.  She is a wonderful companion and is waiting for her very own humans and home.

To meet Hope please fill out a Starfish Animal Rescue application.

If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!

The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
