We’d like to introduce you to Webster, a pom/chi mix weighing around 5 lbs and born around 7/10. He’s fuzzy and active and learning quickly how to live in a house with people. After just one week here, he’s learned that he’s supposed to go potty outside and tries to let us know when he’s got that need. When in the puppy pen he usually uses the training pad. His track record isn't perfect yet, but he's making great progress.
Webster has a light beige coat and beautiful green eyes. We’re fostering his brother as well, and the two of them have a ball playing together both indoors and out. Mostly they fight over sticks and things they perceive as toys. It's been interesting watching their play become more sophisticated, as they figure out how to tease each other. (The two puppies cannot be adopted together due to the risk of sibling aggression as they mature.)
We don’t know what breed Webster is; he could be a chihuahua/pomeranian mix. He does shed. He does bark, but not often. Barking primarily occurs when playing with his brother. He loves children, but should probably be around elementary ages and older due to him jumping up and chewing on anything within his reach. OW! Baby teeth are sharp! He’s loved everyone who has come to our house, and follows us around like a baby duck, watching all of the interesting things we do.
He doesn’t need a fenced yard, but for convenience it would benefit so he can explore on his own and grow in confidence. He’s not been on a leash because we have a fenced yard. Being a puppy, we have recess outside several times per day, and afterwards he has a snack and then a nap. As with a baby, we love nap time! When he barks or whines, he usually is telling us its time to go outside again.
He’s only met one dog, and was afraid at first but then ignored her. They sometimes bark at each other through the fence. He’s not met a cat yet, but would probably chase it and he's young enough to learn to co-exist.
We’d love to introduce you to Webster. If you have interest in possibly having him be a permanent part of your family, please submit an application! He’s adorable, so won’t last long.
The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application .
