Meet Walter! He is a 1-2 yr old Terrier mix weighing around 15 lbs. Walter is a laid back guy who will often come seek a few minutes of attention before backing off again for a little space. He gives very clear cues when he wants attention and when he’s ready for a break.

Some favorite things include cheese, naps, belly rubs, and chasing squirrels. He’s still learning to be comfortable on a leash, so a fenced yard will be required. He’s not a fan of his crate but has shown some improvement with this. He very much prefers to be with his people. 

Walter occasionally shows some interest in squeaky toys, chasing a ball, and chew toys. He can be possessive with toys around the resident dog in his foster home but otherwise does well with her. He hasn’t had any accidents when taken out on a schedule and is learning how to communicate when he needs to go out. 

He has the sweetest demeanor and is the best boy. One look with those puppy eyes and he’ll win your heart. He will be ready for his forever home around the 14th. 

Walter will require a home with a fenced yard and any children must be 10 years or older.  A home that understands he will need slow introductions and time to settle in and develop trust and comfort is important. He would also benefit from some training with his new family to help develop that confidence and trust. 

The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
