Let us introduce Uno - a Peke/Terrier mix boy - who is a senior (10-12 years) weighing 14 lbs with a special story to grab your heart:

Uno is blind, but he is a fantastic little guy for the right home. He is playful like a puppy, devoted and loving, and brings joy to us every single day with his antics.

He needs a home that he can learn to navigate, so there should be no unexpected obstacles that he will crash into. Things need to remain in place so he can find routes that are safe so he can gallop a bit. If you are unsteady, he is not for you. He is always underfoot and walks very close so it's easy to step on him or stumble over him.

There is not a tooth in his mouth. He was found in very bad circumstances and doesn't know much of anything other than he is house trained. He is a bit of a barker - when he is excited, at food time, when encountering strangers, and he constantly barks at my husband for unknown reasons, since he likes my husband.

Being blind, he's not big on walks. I think he may eventually be comfortable walking on a short, familiar route. He should have a securely fenced yard that's clear of danger zones. He likes to be outside, and would enjoy a small, safe yard that he knows well.

He gets along with other dogs and would love to play. He is not up on dog etiquette yet and will try to eat from another's bowl and be intrusive. We feed him separately to avoid trouble. He also crashes into and steps on others, which some dogs find annoying. So while he would like a doggie companion it should be a kind and tolerant one. With no teeth, vision or manners he could get into trouble.

He has lots of requirements, but he is SO MUCH FUN. He bonds very strongly, follows me everywhere, craves attention, and would stay on my lap all day if possible. He is puppyish in his play, and loves to grab a hand and gum it. His life was very sad before, and now he is embracing his new circumstances with utter joy. Every time I see this previously miserable creature run down the hall with such happiness I laugh out loud.

If you have a huge heart and a place in your home, you will be forever happy you picked Uno. We ask that no kids or visiting be in his new home, please. 15+ or older only. A fence is required for placement.

The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
