Hi, my name is Zoomer. I am a 2 year old Shepherd mix and weigh around 29 lbs. When I first came to my foster mom and dad I was very scared. After I realized this was a safe place I quickly settled in. My foster mom is definitely my favorite person but I am warming up to my foster dad too and have started to get excited when he comes in. I like to be on the move whenever possible. My foster mom tells me I don’t have to get up to follow her everywhere but, I do it anyways.

I love to be outside in the yard. My foster mom and I sit outside on nice days and I get to explore the yard and greet the neighbor dogs on all sides of us. My best neighbor friend is a dog named Kiki. We like to chase each other. Sometimes rabbits or squirrels run through the yard and I like to chase them. We go on walks every day. When we first started I didn’t know where I was going and it was all so new. I didn’t like the collar because it would choke me but then I got a harness. Now walks are better. My foster mom makes me stop a lot when I get too excited, but I think she just moves too slow sometimes, we are working on a compromise and she gives me treats when I stay close to her.

I sometimes try to play with my foster parents and they make me stop and then get a toy. I am a little confused at why they don’t want to play with me but then I realized they just like to play different then me. I didn’t ever have toys before so I am still learning what is mine. In the yard I have a ball. My foster mom would throw the ball and then run over to it. I liked to run with her. Then she would get the ball and throw it again and run and get it. I decided to give it a try and it is fun!

I have learned new things too! When they say sit and I do I get treats. Sometimes when I want pets or attention I will walk up and show them how good I am at sit and they will always tell me what a good dog I am. I also am starting to understand when they say stay I am not supposed to move but it is so hard when I know they have treats. Also when my foster mom holds her palm out and says touch if I go and touch her with my nose I get treats!

I don’t really like the crate. The first one was too small so they let me sleep in the room on a bed made of blankets the first night and I showed them I am a good dog and will sleep until they get up in the morning. But once I get up I am so excited to see them! I am curious about the new bigger crate and will go in to get my treat but then run out immediately

A fully fenced in yard is required for placement and kids 8 and older only in the home please.

The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
