hi, I am Ernest - I’m around 10-11 yrs old and about 35 lbs - and probably a Hound mix with other breeds thrown in. I’ve been on quite the adventure the past month. I got to go for a really long car ride and meet some great people. I was pretty tired, hungry, and sick when I first got here but after some medicine, food, and rest I am excited to announce I am searching for my fur ever home.

A little about me… I like long naps on the couch or my dog bed, preferably in the sun! I don’t see too well but I can hear the unwrapping of food from another room and my nose will lead me into the kitchen while you are cooking. I will remind you to feed me at chowtime, and absolutely love treats. I like to cuddle on the couch and will talk to you while I get some much needed scratches.

I am still a little tired from everything I went through before coming to Starfish Rescue, but I get stronger everyday. I am crate trained and potty trained, although I have a hard time controlling my urine when I am sleeping. I’m looking for a wonderful family that will let me take long naps, snuggle me, and most importantly not forget to feed me! Although I am a senior dog I have a lot of spunk in me. I love other dogs and cats, but I have a hard time seeing them to get out of their way if they are jumping and playing, so an older housemate would fit me better. I haven’t been around any kids in the past month, but as long as they are old enough to be gentle with me I would love to cuddle with them and get some snuggles.

I also love being outside and smelling everything but because I can’t see well I need to be supervised. My foster mom is constantly helping me keep my eyeballs from being poked out by the branches of the bushes on our leash adventures. Also I can’t do stairs with my limited vision. I will need to be carried  (I am planning to put on another 5 pounds to get to a good weight) or I will need a no stair household.
