This little 8.5 lb, approx 1 1/2 yr old ,Yorkie/Dachshund , Emma, has really amazed us! She arrived at her foster home, scared and cowered in a little ball, in the corner of her crate. With lots of patience and treats, she got brave enough to come out of her crate and started to trust people. In less than 2 weeks, she surprised all who know her, by doing the puppy dance, wagging her tail, WANTING to come out and be with her humans. It didn't take long after that and she was enjoying playing with the other dogs! Emma has learned to play with toys, and loves them. It is fun to watch her collect toys, and put them all in her crate or bed. Since her personality has blossomed, we feel she would do best in a home with activity, she loves to play. If frightened or startled, she will go and hide, but recovers quickly. She is shy around new people, it would be best if her new family has a fur sibling for her so she can continue to learn from them. A fence is highly recommended. Someone with patience and training experience, is required to continue her training and build her confidence. No kids under 10, please. Emma is currently using pee pads, and housebreaking has begun, but needs work. Someone should be home most of the day, to continue her socialization and training. Since she has learned to trust her foster family, she now is loving the attention and
snuggle time! Everyone who meets Emma falls in love!
