Meet Lando! We call him Lando the Lucky because this sweet, loving happy boy was found as a stray on the side of the road - lost and emaciated - but was immediately brought in, treated, and placed into a loving foster family. Whatever had befallen him in his previous life, it has not affected his exuberant mood for even a minute. Lando loves everyone he meets. He has the personality of a lab, the beautiful coat of a Catahoula and the goofiness of a Great Dane! People are his favorite thing in the world, and he loves to get cuddles and kisses (and he gives the kisses back!). Lando is around 56 lbs - lean and tall. Lando is equal parts play and calm. When he is ready to play, he wants to run! He would be wonderful for an active family who loves to go on walks, or runs or hikes. He loves to play with other dogs too - he would be super happy to have a doggie companion but it would be better if it was a medium (20+ lbs) or large dog as he seems fascinated by toy breed dogs and cats. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body (his family has never heard him growl even once), but he does love to chase small things and try to engage in play that might be too much for a cat or a little dog. Lando sleeps on a dog bed by his family all night long and is doing extremely well with house-training. He walks very well on a leash too! Lando adores kids and currently lives with and loves his 10 and 12 yr old foster family humans. He is beyond sweet but could be a bit much for smaller kids so we suggest 8 and older in the home. He is mostly blind in one eye, but this does not affect him in the slightest. Lando will do best in a home with a fenced in yard and with a family who can spend time with him. He is going to make the best companion ever for the right family. Come and meet this sweet guy soon!
The adoption fee of $300.00 has a $100 sponsorship - the $200 paid by the adopting family will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED!
If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com. Once you complete and submit your dog adoption application we will set up an appointment to meet this pup!
