Meet Nilla! Named for her beautiful "Nilla wafer" colored fur, this sweet girl was spotted abandoned on a Kentucky road by a shelter volunteer who scooped her up and promised her a new life with a rescue in Illinois. Well, she is here now and she is the happiest sweetie ever! She looks like a lab but is certainly too small not to have something else mixed in. She is most likely part Terrier and will get to be probably no bigger than 25 lbs. Nilla can't pick up the bigger toys yet, so right now she sticks to (and likes) her crunchy sounding toys, dragging an unstuffed fake ferret, and to chew on her split antler (she likes to chew), and she's liking to tug-of-war. She's a puppy, she's adorable, and she loves everyone and everything, she plays, she cuddles, she runs and trips, she's so very very cute! She is sleeping nicely at night and is doing very well on her potty training. She absolutely loves to play with her big foster brother and can play kind of rough... but it is a puppy kind of rough. She does love to try to engage the cats and although she is not cat aggressive, if her forever home has cats they need to be laid back and know how to handle puppy attention. Nilla is a sweet, fun, playful girl - and all she needs now is a home to call her own forever.
The adoption fee of $400.00 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED!
If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com. Once you complete and submit your dog adoption application we will set up an appointment to meet this pup! Nilla is being fostered in Newark, IL.
