This handsome fellow is loving, very smart, and has a ton of personality. He can be almost puppy-like with enthusiasm and does everything with flair. He's a clown and always goes for the laugh. Affectionate and snuggly, he loves to be close to you but is not needy or clingy.We aren't sure of his breeding, but Elem looks like a cross between a German Shepherd and a Black Lab or Flat Coated Retriever. He's housetrained, about 18 months old, and a lean 65 pounds. Elem is fine in a crate, and loves to spend some lazy hours lying in the sun or next to his pals - human or otherwise. But he's no wall flower that is content to blend into the background. He is keen, eager to learn, and very trainable. He's extremely smart and athletic.He loves other dogs and cats but can be too rough for the tiny or timid. He is never mean, but needs to learn to play more gently with the smaller creatures. Our cat, who generally ignores dogs, seeks out Elem's company, but sometimes has to back him off when Elem is very excited. He was very fearful when he arrived and is still a little hesitant with strangers, but once comfortable his joyful personality emerges. He is not a barker but can be quite vocal when he needs something.As an energetic guy, he'd welcome a fenced yard. He is great on the leash but would appreciate some added activity. Being so smart and athletic he would love agility or scenting - anything that provides exercise and mental stimulation.Elem is a wonderful dog.

The adoption fee of $225.00 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED!
