Leia is a medium size (~57lbs) golden retriever mix (although everyone who meets her says she is mostly golden) and around 2 ½ years old. She is a very sweet dog who loves to be with her humans more than anything. She loves to sit with you while you are working, watching tv, or just hanging out. Because she likes to be with her humans so much, it is difficult for her when her humans leave her alone. Leia would be best for a family that could take her to a lot of places with them or who are not so busy that she would be left alone often. Leia would also benefit from a family who has owned and trained dogs previously in order to gain confidence in herself, so that when she is alone she knows she will be okay.
Leia also loves to run, so a bigger backyard would be best for her. She is trained on an invisible fence; however, she does break through from time to time, so a physical fence would be best. She also enjoys going on jogs and hikes as long as it is not too hot because of her coat. Leia does get along with other dogs after a very slow introduction; however, she would be best as the only dog in the house. And although she has been around cats, she will chase them if they get too close to her food, treats, or toys. Leia likes to play too, and would do well with older children.
