Meet Albie! Albie was removed from a hoarding situation. He ended up in a high kill shelter. He's a sweet and incredibly mild-mannered dog. I haven't even heard him bark yet! He's not very active, he love to go for short walks in the grass and more than anything, he likes a warm lap to cuddle on. I haven't had him around cats, so I don't know how he'll do there, but he's great with kids and other dogs. Because of his leg, young children and very active dogs might not be a good idea - he can't keep up and he falls down easy. But he certainly doesn't have a temper when it comes to either of these.
He's a bit of a pudge, and weight loss is a work in progress. It will take time, but it's going to be good for his joints. He does sleep quietly in his crate at night, but I've had his bed on the floor next to mine in my room, and he loves it. As long as he can see his people, he's happy. He really is a sweetie, and since he has limited mobility, he mostly like to cuddle and be held. He's make a great companion animal for someone who works from home or is retired. Also, he prefers soft food to hard, since he's got a few teeth missing.
